How it works

Frequently asked questions

Is my Wi-Fi password secure here?

Yes. The password is processed entirely in your browser — it's never transmitted to any server. Close the tab and it's gone.

What security type should I choose?

Choose WPA/WPA2 for most modern routers. WEP is for older (rare) routers. None is for open networks with no password.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. iOS 11+ and Android 10+ can scan Wi-Fi QR codes natively with the camera app, no third-party app needed.

What if my network name has special characters?

Special characters in the SSID or password are automatically escaped in the WIFI: QR string format.

Can I hide the network SSID?

Yes — toggle the "Hidden network" option. This adds H:true to the QR string, prompting the device to scan for hidden networks.

Is the generated QR code permanent?

The QR encodes your current Wi-Fi settings. If you change your password or SSID, generate a new one.
