Frequently asked questions

Is my contact data sent to a server?

No. The vCard string is generated and encoded into a QR entirely in your browser. Nothing is transmitted.

What is a vCard?

vCard (Virtual Contact File) is a standard format for contact information. vCard 3.0 is widely supported by iOS, Android, and desktop email clients.

Which fields are required?

Only First Name is required. All other fields (phone, email, org, URL) are optional — fill in what you need.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Scanning with the native camera app on iOS 11+ or Android opens a "Save Contact" prompt immediately.

Can I add a photo?

Not in this tool — embedding photos increases QR complexity significantly and reduces scan reliability.

Can I re-generate if my details change?

Yes — update the form and click Generate to create a new QR code with current details.
