Is my data sent to a server?
No. Barcode generation uses JsBarcode running entirely in your browser. Nothing is transmitted.
What is the difference between barcode formats?
CODE128 encodes any ASCII character and is the most flexible. EAN-13 and UPC-A encode product numbers for retail. CODE39 is alphanumeric and widely used in logistics. ITF-14 is for shipping containers.
Why does EAN-13 require 12 or 13 digits?
EAN-13 is a fixed-length numeric format: 12 data digits plus a check digit. If you enter 12 digits, the check digit is calculated automatically.
Can I download the barcode as PNG?
The download button exports SVG, which is infinitely scalable and ideal for print. To get a PNG, open the SVG in a browser and screenshot it, or use an SVG-to-PNG converter.
What width and height values should I use?
Width controls bar thickness (2–4 is typical for labels). Height is the barcode height in pixels — 50–100px suits most label sizes.
